hearing aids? I have a hearing loss, and its is getting worse. I have tinnitus and want to know if you have this and what hearing aids worked for you. What can I expect to pay for them and where are they available? At this point I am doing research and saving pennies. Is there any organizations that will help working people hear?

Where can I get honest professional advice on hearing aids? My Mum is 81, and has a hearing aid, which was very expensive. (£1500.00) and is virtually useless. I consider this to be a total rip off. How to eliminate squeal or feedback from in the ear hearing aids? When I turn the volume up on my ITE hearing aid to a functional level, I get significant feedback. Anyone using Rhapsody brand hearing aids? I have an appointment at the Shea Clinic in Memphis (a Rhapsody reseller) this week. I know I need hearing aids (age 48, male) for a high-end hearing loss and pronounced tinnitus. I've worn inexpensive ($500 each) behind the ear analog instruments before and they helped a great deal, but they died 5 years ago, and I have not worn any since. Why is it that on the NHS hearing aids are free but not glasses? It is not logical, if you cannot see properly you are a danger to yourself and others. Yet you have to pay for spectacles. If you are hard of hearing, you get an aid free on the NHS, why?

I have been wearing hearing aids for a ever since I was 7 years old; now I am in college with an unknown career. I was wondering if anyone could give me an web site with an list of jobs that I could do? Maybe this could get me some thinking to do and learn about the job too.

Are there any real differences in hearing aids makers and models? I have hearing loss and believe the high cost is outlanish so would like to know if aids are the same reguardless who makes them.

Would wearing your hearing aids make your hearing loss get worse? i hate wearing my hearing aids. i think in 1st grade i only lost hearing in my left ear but after i tested again this year i lost 50% in both ear! i havent wore my hearing aids in years. is that probaly the reason why my hearing loss got worse? when i wore them once in school this year everything was so LOUD! i couldnt stand it. i couldnt even hear my friend talk to me because of everything else around me. also is there any way i could get back some of my hearing loss?

Could someone help me with hearing aids fitting process? My mom is beginning to lose her hearing and would like to know what it entails in the selection and fitting process fo hearing aids. She asked me because I am a Communication Disorders student which entails minimul Audiology study, however we have not discussedthis in much detail in my classes, so websites or other reasonable sources are much appreciated.
