How much better are digital hearing aids over the analog ones?

I am in the provess of getting a digital hearing aid. I have a profound hearing loss. With analog I need headphonmes to watch tv. Will I be able to watch tv normally with a digital? Are they that good?

1. i wear digital hearing aids and i love them....they have 4 settings which the doc will explain....what i like about them is if it gets too loud in the room they automatically switch themselves to a different "mode"....and yes you should be able to watch tv normally
