What is the ABSOLUTE cheapest & most affordable way to vacation at Disneyland or Disneyworld for a family of 9

I am a mother of 5 on a very limited income, but I never got to go to either as a child and I promised my kids I would take them. I know there's gotta be some affordable way.

  1. Try to find coupons for things, there all over just hard to find sometime, also try for group rates, stay out of the park for food and lodge. unless you can get a discount on lodge, but it should be cheaper out of the park. Try not to eat out but buying ur own food. If you need air fair well that's a big thing, good luck with that. Search all over and look for something else. I don't know where u work but working at some places you get discounts at hotels, parks, that kind of stuff. ask. save money as much as u can, coupons can actually really help. and have ur kids help to, they will feel part of everything, save change, limeade stands and so on. it will help. good luck
  2. Honestly, it's gonna cost you. A family of nine will save the most on a room, and since there are so many of you, you'll want to stay on property to save on transportation. They do a package that includes your room and your tickets. They used to do a meal plan as well, but it won't save you very much and will limit you, so I don't recommend it. Buy the one day, one park tickets for exactly how many days you want and skip the "No expiration date" option to save money there. The park hopper option really isn't necessary either. My favorite time of year to go is the second week of December. The parks are all decked out for Christmas, but the crowds are small. You'll save the most if you can figure out a way NOT to eat at the parks the whole time. Try bringing breakfast foods that don't need refrigeration and if you can manage it, sandwich fix-ins for lunch. You won't be able to bring it with you to the park, but with that many kids, you'll probably want an afternoon break. And here's my most important tip: don't go until your kids are old enough! If they are younger than 8, and this is the only time you'll be able to take them, Do Not Go! It's worth the wait, I promise, but dragging tired kids who can't go on all the rides would be a waste.
  3. Go off season and try to stay off site in a local hotel. There are some really nice ones just WEst of the main gate that are like mini suites that could handle your family for about $90 per night, but that might be more than you can spend. Just check for deals. Call Disney World to ask for deals also. Check web.
