Disneyland trip! Anabella or try disneyland hotels?
Hi everyone! I'm planning a disneyland vacation for my birthday and wanted to see if anyone know any great disneyland deals right now? I'm planning on going right before peak season probably around april 10 for 3 days 2 nights. Also has anyone stayed at the anabella hotel? how is it there? I was also thinking of going to disneyland hotel but its quite expensive. Is it worth it for the price? I want to stay really close to Disneyland as much as possible. Any suggestions? Thanks! :)

- The Annabella is OK, but it's quite a long walk to the front entrance. http://www.galttech.com/research/travel/best-disneyland-hotels.php The Park Vue is the closest, but not the greatest hotel. I always recommend the Candy Cane Inn and the Howard Johnson. They are a step above the others in terms of rooms, service, pool, and value. Yes, they are a few steps more, but still close enough to walk back to for a nap or swim in the afternoon. Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian immerse you in the Disney experience. You get more perks, but you pay for it. You have to decide whether the immersion is worth the added expense. We go to the GC once every couple years for special occasions. Have fun!
- I have stayed at the Annabella. It's a nice place. But Don't stay here if you're going to the Disney Parks. The Annabella is best for events at the nearby Convention Center. Instead stay at one of the inns on Harbor Blvd. Anything in the 1500-1700 block of Harbor Blvd will put you directly across from the Main Entrance to the parks. My personal favourites are as follows- The Candy Cane Inn Carousel Inn I live about 9 miles from Disneyland. I go every year and stay across the street for 2-3 nights and see both Disney parks with a "Park Hopper" pass every year. I would never recommend staying at any of the Disney hotels unless you want the "Full Disney Experience". If all you want is a pleasant place to sleep and will be out most of the day... The Disney hotels are too expensive for the little time you spend in them. The Best Western Anaheim Inn is also a very quiet, clean, and comfortable place to stay. But their parking lot is small cramped and not very nice. For this reason alone I "down grade" them. You don't mention if there will kids along or not. If so.. You may indeed want to stay at a Disney hotel. The most kid friendly of which and economical of them being the Disneyland Hotel. Paradise Pier Hotel is best for older kids and teens. While the Grand Californian is very much for adults and is the most sophisticated in it's general atmosphere, of all the Disney properties. As for kid friendly/family friendly inns nearby. The ones listed below are preferred by people with kids- The Tropicana Inn and Suites Castle Inn and Suites Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites Portofino Inn and Suites (Offers Kid's Suites and kid's eat free deals. But is a bit further out from the park than the others mentioned above) Best Western Park Place Inn (AKA Stovall's Park Place Inn) Park Vue Inn Everything I've listed is as close to the parks as you can get. However... The Candy Cane Inn.. While it actually sits directly in back of Disney's Calif Adventure... It's not across from the main entrance gate. You'll have a good 6-8 minute walk to reach the main gate. Same walk applies to the Castle Inn. Also worth noting- The Park Vue Inn has an Ihop restaurant on site The Carousel Inn has a Quiznos Sandwich shop on site and McDonald's is a few doors down from the hotel. The Best Western Anaheim Inn is right next door to Dennys Also a great web site for you to visit is anaheimoc.org to help you plan your trip. They've got the best maps!
- The Del Sol Inn is directly across the street from the entrance to Disneyland. You can walk to the park to avoid paying parking fees and the hotel is only about $100 per night and has free parking, fridge and microwave in the room and free continental breakfast. It's no hilton, but how much time do you actually spend in the room?
