How do you start up a television station?

I wondering what is required to start up a television station either in Canada and United States. In addition, I am wondering what is the start up cost?

1. in either nation, you have to get a licence to use the public airwaves. the number of licences is limited and, in essence, no more are being issued. thus, you have to buy an existing station to get the licence. that's several million, minimum
2. Get a really big antenna... I mean really big!
3. Lots of money, you may want to think about public access television.
4. lots and lots of money............. because you cant do it from scratch.. and you will have to BUY one...
