Finally Today

What other fun things are there to do in the Orlando area, besides the theme parks?

My boyfriend and I will be going down to Orlando, Fl. in April (hopefully) and will be visiting Disney, Seaworld, and Universal already. Wanted to know, besides other theme parks that would be worth checking out. Any cool places to eat, beaches, etc... We're both in our 20's and it'll be our first trip out to Florida and I just want to make it really speacial. Thank you.

  1. i liked the strip bars
  2. Unfortunately, the beaches are going to be too far away for it to be worth while for you to visit them. Don't know if you count them as theme parks, but my girlfriend and I always have a great time at the water parks there, Wet n Wild or Blizzard Beach, so you may want to give those a try as well. Beyond that, if you're doing theme parks day after day, there'll probably be a day in there where you'll just want to take a break and relax at your hotel since walking all around Disney and universal day after day can be tiring.
  3. Theres downtown disney. I think its like 20 or 30 mins away from the theme parks. They have a bunch of places to shop, like disney stores, virgin records, and a chocolate store. Then they have night clubs, movie theater, disney quest, pleasure island, cirque du soleil. They have house of blues, planet hollywood, rainforest cafe, mcdonalds, and a bunch of other places to eat. If you dont like that they have disney wide world of sports, or the 2 water parks.
  4. You name it! We have it! Definitely go to SeaWorld and Universal Islands of Adventure. Disney has lots of fun stuff, too. But it is really expensive and being in your 20s you will have more fun at Islands of Adventure and SeaWorld. Definitely try to make it over to Clearwater Beach for a day. It is a beautiful beach on the Gulf side of Florida and is a little drive from the Disney area (about 1.5 hours). But if you can catch a sunset there, you will be in love with Florida. Just sit at a beach restaurant and have margaritas and peel and eat shrimp. Your cares will go away! If you are in your 20s, you may want to check out Downtown Orlando. It is a fun bar/club scene at night. Just be sure to take a cab, because it is so much fun that you may not be able to drive back to where ever you are staying. If you can while you are at Disney, check out the Cirque de Soliel show La Nouba. It is amazing. One of my favorite date nights ever was catching dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Restaurant and then seeing the show after. If you get all of these things along with a couple of parks in on your week long vacation, I guarantee you will have a very memorable vacation.
  5. discovery cove is awesome, expensive but awesome, however in april it may be too cold.
