What is there to do in Orlando aside from the theme parks?
My husband and I will be in Orlando for three days and we don't plan to visit a theme park. Any suggestions??? We've been to the theme parks several times already. We will be in town for a conference but have the day to ourselves on Sunday.....

- Get some whores and do some drugs!
- Great Shopping, Cocoa Beach is about 1 hour away, but the Theme parks would be great for just a couple. My husband and I dream of the day we go to Disney by ourselves!! Epcot would be great just to stole around.
- Yeah, sorry, but you're crazy if you're going to Orlando but not planning on seeing a theme park. Why'd you pick a destination known for being a capital of theme parks rather than any other location if you didn't want to go to a theme park? When I go to Orlando the only reason I go is to go to Walt Disney World. We don't even leave property. My boyfriend and I go each summer, just the two of us, and we have the most amazing, romantic time! You should try it!
- There's a lot to do in Orlando, but the theme parks usually get the most attention. If you want a list of current events and activities, the Orlando Weekly usually has a pretty good calendar of events: http://www.orlandoweekly.com/calendar/ As for dining, I would also consult the Orlando Weekly. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area, but depending on where you stay will determine which ones you want to try: http://www.orlandoweekly.com/dining/ An idea for a great evening out would be having dinner somewhere at Downtown Disney and then seeing Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba. Have fun!
- You will probly be at the convention center, try I-drive there are stores there and little dinner shows and attractions
- Go to gatorland? Or take an airboat ride.
- There are many things to do: Shopping, Beaches, Ripleys, Gator Land, Museums, Medivel Dinner Shows, Plays, Theaters, Resteraunts, Comedy Shows, etc. There are plenty of things to do in Orlando!
- If you have a car. Drive a-w-a-y from the "tourist" part of town. Go to downtown Orlando and rent a 'swan boat' at Lake Eola. Go to the Orlando Museum of Art. Drive to Winter Park and window shop in all the cool little stores, and go on the chain of lakes boat ride. Drive up to Mt. Dora and visit the antique shops and have a bite to eat. Go to Cape Canaveral and see where the Shuttle takes off. Sanford and take the "Riverboat Romance". Visit one of our state parks (we have two really nice parks with springs, rent a canoe!)..Oh, what about Blue Springs, and see the manatees?? There are sooooooo many nice areas in and around Orlando that have nothing to do with a theme park! See the "real" Central Florida!
