What are the two best Theme Parks in Orlando?

Also, what is there to do in Miami?

  1. Probably Seaworld and.....Blizzard Beach
  2. DUDE! This is the BEST QUESTION EVER! Why? Cause I LOVE ORLANDO!!!!! :) :) :) Ok let me tell you now, I'm a frequent visitor, so here's my personal report: 1) Disney World is OVERRATED. Sure it's a MUST go to, but if you're looking for thrills, you gotta look elsewhere. This is a "family-fun" material type of fun, so it's wonderful w/ the kids and with your significant other. But other than that, don't have too high of expectations. Don't get me wrong though, it's still a must go to - they have 4 different parks of fun to visit, and also some Water Parks that are a must-go-to. They just don't have the heart-pumping, "scare you out of your pants" thrill, that other Theme Parks have to offer. 2) If you want thrills, THIS is the place to be! Universal Studios Florida; now they know how to have fun! Not only are the rides ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, but they also have a Citywalk where you can do more casual-fun things like dancing, dining, shopping, etc. They even have live bands performing - I'll never forget when I was hearing Blink 182, and I thought it was a music video. I looked over and there they were! And it was just a normal Summer Wednesday! How do they do it, I have no idea..... 3) This is the place to be for all things amazing shows: Sea World. You would think this only pleases the kids, but the shows they have MUST be watched - be prepared to be amazed here. One thing I really enjoyed in Florida was the Water Parks - Disney World has two great ones that should be visited, and there is also some other Water Parks, but unfortunately I have yet to visit them. I hear they are amazing though; "blow your mind" fun. Finally, there is one more Theme Park: Busch Gardens. Unfortunately on my last visit it was a family-orientated trip, so we didn't get to visit the place. However, they are supposed to have the most extreme and intense Roller Coasters around, along with live animals such as giraffes free-roaming I believe. Definitely a "must-visit" - something I personally can look forward to next time on your visit. If you plan to go to Orlando soon, have an AMAZING trip!!! I love it there, and I'm sure you will too :)
  3. 2 Best Theme Parks are Islands of Adventure (great rides) and Discovery Cove (it's expensive if you don't want to spend that much go to Sea World instead). Miami has beautiful beaches, you can go parasailing, rent some jet skies or rent a boat. http://www.universalorlando.com/ioa_index.html?__source=over&s_kwcid=TC-1908-17835615522-S-1910536022 http://www.discoverycove.com/default2.aspx
  4. Sounds like you've only set aside 2 days for Orlando.... So much of it depends on what kinda stuff you like, as well as when you go. Epcot is my personal favorite, due to the atmosphere there, the food, and that it tends to be less crowded (or it's spread out more). Magic Kingdom is the busiest park in the world. There are good times to go, but summer or spring break or christmas week aren't them... All Disney parks are light on 'thrills' (compared to the average park in the country), but more than make up for it in atmosphere. I go 2 weeks a year, and the past 2 years I spent the whole time in Disney. 'Islands of Adventure' kinda struck me as a park built by a bunch of people ticked off that they got left out of Disney and took it out on the guests :). Some of the stuff to me seems over the top (like the water rides have to get you MORE wet than the Disney equivalants). If thrills are a must for you to have fun I'd say that this one is mandatory (though someone I know that lives down there HATED it since it wasn't like Six Flags in Jersey). It does also make a reasonable attempt at atmosphere (but to me it just isn't the same). It DOES, however, have an Emeril restaurant at Citywalk (there is a mild dress code there, but usually you can walk in for lunch off season. Dinner you have to have reservations months in advance for a sniff of the place). Do you have 2 full days? Any 'half' days over that? If you have 'extra' time, there are alternatives to add, like Disneyquest (interactive stuff, plus free arcade games). If you want an 'animal' fix and a good meal make reservations at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (not a part of the theme park). African buffet, $26 a head not including coffee, tea, or alcohol, and you get a free look at the few animals that they have there. Waterparks are good when it ISN'T crowded. There are no fastpasses at waterparks :(. By nature since most everything is one person at a time and they have to do it safely lines can have EXTREMELY long waits even if they don't appear to be that long. Of course there are the wave pools there, but if you are doing Miami save that for the real thing :).
  5. Universal Studios and Disney World
  6. Orlando: Islands of Adventure, Sea World. For the non-traditional theme park experience, go to Gatorland. Miami: Stick with the beach and the nightlife.
  7. (1) Universal (2) Sea World
