Finally Today

Comparing and contrasting Television from the past and today?

I have to write a compare and contrast essay on the history of television shows. I have to pick out main points for the body paragraphs. So far I have: -Television shows today are much more violent. -More raunchier, more sexual. -Foul language. -Reality shows/Instant celebrity. Any other ideas? And does anyone know where I can find research for my main points? Like statistics and such?
