Is there anyone with boarding School Help!?
ok I'm 13 in the 7th grade, and have been wanting to go to a boarding school for some time now. I've found an amazing one Just out side the city that is rather cheap compared to the others I've looked at. I don't know if my parents could afford it but I hear there is Amazing Financial aid available for schools now and days. I have great grades in my school now but just find it to easy! But every time I even think about boarding school my parents pull the old "I don't even want to hear it" So here are my questions... 1)How can I convince my parents to at least seriously consider this 2)How and could I get Finical aid 3)Any reviews of the school (BrookHill Academy in texas) 4)your experience of boarding school Thanks a bunch! I want to go because It's WAY harder than Public Schools, teaches Independance and Responciblities, Helps with college applications, Smaller class sizes( witch means easier to learn) and Most of all College Prep classes are way better in Boarding than Public schools

- Why do you want to go?
- okay. so when i was your age i was in the same boat- and i got to go for grade 9 and had a most amazing and wonderful experience. so i say go for it absolutely! there's nothing you can loose. and for convincing the parents. tell them that you will be ready to be independant that it will teach you how to be more responsible, organized and equipped for life when you go off to college/university. and you're ready for a change and know that you can handle it. after all you won't be too far away from home. com eup with a sheet of pro's and cons of going away to boarding school. my experience - i made some of my best friends today even though we're all from diffferent countries our friendship has lasted this long . i had amazing teachers who were much more supportive and interested in the subjects they teached. i got better grades at b.school than when at public school. it became my second home and the people were my second family. i say go for it. and good luck! p.s. and for financial aid. you could try visiting the schools website and contacting the person in charge of admissions or financial aid. i hope this has helped.
- I attend an arts Academy boarding school in Southern California. And it is VERY easy to get financial aid--I have a full scholarship. If your family isn't rich, chances are you will get some form of aid. As for your parents, you can list the many benefits that I received from my experience there: not only does boarding school help you mature, but it also helps you become very independent, and nothing prepares you for college better than boarding school. Also, colleges love seeing that you attended a boarding school, I have been told by my counselor that my attendance at a school like this helps my chances of getting into college. As for my experience, I love boarding school. I have made so many amazing friends that I will know and love for the rest of my life, and have experienced so many things that my friends back at home haven't. I would most definitely recommend it. Good luck!
