Why is this ABC news reporter being arrested for investigating lobbyists and top donors at the DNC?
Here's the video...an answer that includes "freedom of the press" in it has a good chance of being "best answer" for those so motivated. http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5670682

- Get used to it. It's a New World Order thing...
- Because the GOP didn't want to be ID at the lobbyist event.
- Yes I agree with freedom of the press but the guy obviously did something illegal to get arrested!
- Freedom of anything is just an illusion....if certain people don't wanna see you anymore..you're gone. No one in Obama's staff will even talk to Fox News..now mind you...they are obviously slanted to the right...but they are part of what makes up America. It makes me sad to see what the Democratic party is quickly falling into.
- I guess ABC is not liberal enough for the Democrats anymore.
- That, my friend, is a very good question. It sounds like the police weren't even willing to mention the charges, except for "refusal to follow a lawful order" and "tresspassing" even though he was on a public sidewalk with his camera crew. Freedom of the press died in 2008. It seems like they are squandering their freedom to follow the Obama crowd. I am honestly surprised that ABC is even doing this kind of work after they pulled that stunt with Barack Obama's Iraq trip.
- They didn't like the fact that he was there to investigate the lobbyists that were granted access to the DNC. Its a clear violation of freedom of the press.
- Because the Dems didn't want to bring attention to the fact that they were giving sky boxes at his speech to the Lobbyist that give them the most money. They were also caught taking money from Lobbyist's wives. Obama is a big fake, and this is just another example of how the DNC favors can go to the highest bidder!
- Liberals do not want to be exposed for what they are,The most unhanded bunch in the country,The reporter recorded a meeting that was supposed to be secret, shame on him for doing his job
- So much for freedom of speech, he was on a public sidewalk when the video shows him being pushed into the street and then when they arrest him the cigar smoking sargent puts his hand on the reporters neck. This will only get worse if Obama is president look at how many lawsuits he has filed against people who speak out against him.
- It is the influence of Chicago style politics. *
- The reporter was arrested because the cops were demasculated by having so many big wigs around and wanted to show everyone around that he is a bad ass..He gives cops a bad name and he is the type that probably goes home and slaps his kids and wife around..The reporter should sue the city of Denver and the cop should be terminated....Long live freedom of the press!!
- Despicable. Doesn't matter if the reporter was liberal or conservative. If this harmless reporter was assaulted, Barack Obama and John McCain should both stand together and condemn the Denver PD's action.
- Reminds me a lot of the "control" Obama had enforced during his "dog and pony" overseas theatrics. First, he agreed to allow a "few" Foreign Press Reporters, but changed his mind ( there's something DIFFERENT...Obama changing his mind...) Then he ordered his security Staff and Secret Service to keep ANY Reporters at least 50' from him. Andrea Mitchell of NBC, who accompanied Obama, summed it up best. Having covered numerous elections in her life, she had NEVER seen ANY candidate, control every second, every movement every possibility as Obama. And you can believe, this INCLUDES the news media, even to censoring them.
- All the video shows is the arrest, and the dumb reporter talking back to the cops. That is dumbest thing you can do. If you don't want trouble, you say, "yes sir", "sorry sir" and do as they ask. Anyone who knows anything knows that unless you are trying to get arrested you NEVER talk back to cops. Stupid reporter. The video has no relevance to what he was supposed to be investigating. For all I know he was violating laws prior to where the video starts. Were the cops called because he had refused to leave private property? The Freedom of the press only goes so far. I am really curious what happened between the cut in the video of the reporter on the street and his arrest. Just because you have press credentials does not mean you can break the law.
- He was charged with trespassing and failure to abide to a lawful order. What does that mean? It means he went somewhere that he wasn't authorized, and yes you will get arrested for that - and you can actually be taken down by the secret service. I have never been to a national convention, but I have to state conventions and they don't play around with people going into unauthorized areas. Probably has something to do with the fact that senators and presidential candidates are targets of assasination plots. Funny how we get so testy, but you can't just go whereever you want during a convention.
- That was just abusive! those cops were abusing their authority. That reporter wasn't doing anything wrong then that huge cop came and pushed the poor guy, it almost looked like a big bully picking on a kid. But why were trying to stop him so badly? what were they trying to hide? what is it that they don't want people to see? If there's no wrong doing or underhanded tricks, what's there to hide? I hope that guy sues them and that the truth comes to light and that all those phonies are unmasked. NO FREEDOM HERE! JUST ABUSE!
