What is the best deal for a family (with 2 boys 13 & 15 yo) vacation to Disneyland?

We are flying from Canada. Driving is not an option due to limited time. We are scheduling it for summer 2009.

1. Disney is giving away free tickets for people that come on their birthday. only the person with the birthday. so i'd schedule on someone's birthday. adult tickets are more expensive so i'd do it on one of your birthdays.
2. i would say stay at a cheap hotel,( it won't be crappy, they have some very nice 3rd class hotels, very well themed and great for children)! they also offer the birthday Special for 09, do a adult birthday, and to resister for the birth day go to www.DisneyGo.com, there you can resister the family member. If your looking for a less crowed season, go on their off season, jan-march!
3. i think theres this website to on to disneyland and you check how many days you are staying there and when you are leaving and it will tell you how much it cost
4. Are you going to Disneyland or Disneyworld? For DisneyWorld I would highly recommend staying in the park. Sooo much better. A Disney resort will pick you up at the airport (which is expensive for your own transportation) There are lots of other perks to staying in a Disney resort. Check out the value resorts to save money. Only buy from disney. too many scams out there
5. I'm giving you this information based on the Disneyland, in Anaheim, California If any of your sons have a birthday during summer 2009, go on their birthday. They get a free ticket. Not only that, you get a birthday button, free desserts at restaurants, and sometimes special treatment!!! You won't find a better deal for tickets anywhere else, so might as well buy them online or at the park. They MIGHT have discounted stuff at your local AAA. But they will probably not. I would go to a hotel outside of the park because it is cheaper and the hotels in Disneyland and the hotels outside of Disneyland are basically the same. However, if you want to have the full Disney experience, you should go to the Disneyland Hotel in Disneyland park. Try to get to the park when it first opens so you can beat the crowds in the morning! Have fun on your trip!
