Did anyone see Eckhart Tolle on ABC News last night?

What do you think of him? They were acting like he's teaching something new, but Buddhism and Hinduism have been teaching alot of the same things he teaches for thousands of years longer.

1. Hasnt anyone realized that news stations are nothing more than completely opinionated media that is no longer based on a nuetral standpoint?
2. Eckhart Tolle is the most blasphemous and ignorant person I have ever seen speak on television. All of the things he's said on tv about his 'A New Earth' is so untrue and wrong that I question peoples intelligence who follow him. I used to have respect for Oprah until she started promoting his books and stating there is more than one way to heaven.
3. But Americans aren't that familiar with Eastern religions so Tolle has to explain himself, and religions don't have a monopoly on getting past the ego. Where in Buddhism is the ego discussed by Buddha. Buddha probably calls it just illusion, and Muslims would probably call it the lower self. I don't think Tolle is taking a religion and revamping it, I think he genuinely knows what's beyond religion.
4. I think he's awake, unlike most of us, including me. The reaction of the Christian right, ("Our Religion is The Only True Belief. Everything else is doctrines of demons"), is exactly what our enemies, the Muslim extremists, think.
