How would life be different today if the Confederacy still existed?

Life in the United States would probably be dramatically different today if the Confederate States of America still existed.

1. No, the Confederacy would have given up keeping slaves soon after because slaves were to expensive to own over machinery that was a product of the new industrial age. The sad thing was that the war did not have to be fought for this reason. But, the human rights for blacks still would have taken a lengthy time to win.
