How does today's economic crisis compare to the Great Depression?

I have to write a comparison paper by comparing the causes and effects of the Great Depression to today's economic crisis. I have the basics, like under consumption. But I need a few more ideas.

1. Financial and economic problems: foreclosure, tax rate, loss of employment
2. I think a big factor that you might need is that during the depression there was about 25% of unemployed which makes it a depression and currently there is about 10% so you can see how 25% of unemployed people affects the economy at that time. Also you should look into the regulations with stock and banks at the time which were way different compared to today.
