Where can I find help for the purchase of hearing aids?
I am on a fixed income, and am completely deaf in one ear and partially in the other. I can not afford hearing aids on my own. Can anyone help me?

- Contact your state's Department of Human Services.
- There are many local organizations that do assist persons with lower incomes in purchasing/obtaining hearing aids. I would recommend contacting your local Lions Club as they are the most prominent in most communities. Also Healthy Hearing (http://www.healthyhearing.com) is an online consumer resource for persons with hearing loss and who wear hearing aids. They provide free consumer guides - one which is a comprehensive funding guide broken down by state and national organizations that assist persons in purchasing hearing aids. I highly recommend visiting the following section on their website to obtain that funding guide: http://www.healthyhearing.com/happy/.
