Finally Today

Why are people continuing to get the facts wrong in both the Vick and Stallworth cases?

Do people just not watch the news or read a newspaper anymore? On here today I've seen one person claim that Stallworth left the scene and should be charged for that, but Stallworth never left the scene, he was there when the police arrived. Has nobody read up on the Florida State Law about Causation? More people seem to think that Vick only went to prison for fighting and killing dogs, not organized crime. I've even seen a post where someone said that Pacman Jones has never been charged with a crime? Which he has been charged quite a few times. What is our country coming to when people spew out opinions without reading up on the facts?

  1. Finally somebody that understands! There are so many ignorant people on here! Star for you!
  2. I just want to know why are people even comparing the two cases. They are totally different.
  3. Stallworth ran over the man. Backed up and ran him over again. All the while, he was giving the Pope the finger. Then he fled the scene. I'm not trying to make fun of what happened. It is very serious, a man lost his life and that's horrible. But everyone needs to know the facts before people come and judge someone they don't know. Let the judge and lawyers who handle the case take care of it.
  4. because no one reads substance of articles anymore just headlines. one was an accident and the other was over the course of years. people are idiots. if some guy ran in front of me @ 2am on the highway i'd hit him too, even with 0 drinks .
  5. People are too busy to read or watch the whole story. Info is learned on the web/tv/paper then passed by word of mouth and the story often changes. Also the press is more interested in getting the story first then they are at getting it right. So from the time you read it on the web until you see it on tv and then see it in the paper there are 3 versions of what happened. When you read the story a week later, thats when all the facts are in and there is a complete story. It's even worse, Kevin McHale getting fired as coach was first reported (accidently) by one of his own players on Twitter.
  6. I am with you bro and I am worn out on trying to educate everyone on what it was all about. Some people just read headlines or just listen to one misinterpreted source. Whether it be the media or a friend telling the story, they ALWAYS leave all the facts out. They only pick and choose what they want you to know so that it causes outrage. It helps make people tune in to find out more. But the problem is, many don't take the time to find out more. For instance, how many people are saying that "Stallworth is buying out the Reyes family and that is why he is getting off so easy"? In fact Stallworth did not pay anything out of his pocket. The settlement is out of court and it was settled to avoid lawsuit, but that was mainly because that is how INSURANCE COMPANIES work. Stallworth had 2 insurance policies, an auto insurance policy, and a $5 million umbrella policy to cover the loss. This was treated no differently than what would happen to anyone who has insurance. But of course, the media wording made it sound like Stallworth settled with the family to avoid lawsuit. No, the insurance companies did. Like you, I am sick of ignorance. I am tired of people picking and choosing certain facts to make their point valid. I am talking about the tools that actually know ALL the facts, but choose to ignore them to make their position right. To those people who do that, Who are you fooling? Thumbs up to those who agree.
  7. Trust me- they don't have the facts wrong. They have a clear cut agenda to help Vick, and don't let the truth get in the way.
