Even today, migrant workers toil in the fields of California, Florida and elsewhere in our country. How similar are their experiences to those of the Joads? Who are the Joads of today?

1. You must be in Nahirnys class. I was thinking besides migrant workers, it was everyone enduring this recession. The book has certain points where it points out how all the migrant workers became a family, how the landowners would take families before single men to work. Think about how this is going on right in our own community, how people are helping each other out in times of struggle, and also how companies are changing what type of people they are hiring now.
