What should we do in Orlando other than theme parks?
We arrive in Orlando at 11 am and can't check into our Kissimmee accommodations until 4PM. Any suggestions what a group of adults can do to kill 5 hours? I imagine we'll be somewhat dragging due to waking before 4 am so we won't want to walk around a park. Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We can't get into accommodations early, I've already asked. The dinner theaters don't have performances those times, but I'll check out Downtown Disney and the springs/parks as possible time-killers.

- You can go to the movies & then hang out in the food court at any mall & eat & lounge.
- You can do a little shopping over at the Premium Outlets or walk around Downtown Disney. Both of these are on the way to Kiss from the Orlando Airport. You can also spend a couple of hours driving (if you have a car)around International Dr where you will find things you might be able to enjoy http://www.internationaldriveorlando.com/
- I am from Florida and have lived there all my life. Disney is cool I guess, but that is not Florida. State Parks are the way to go! You can experience the Real Florida and for cheap!!! Lots of fun things to do like tubing, fishing, nature trails, playgrounds, swimming, etc. Check out some of our natural springs. They are beautiful and like nothing else you have ever seen. Try Ginny Springs, Ichetuknee Springs, Manatee Springs, Rainbow Springs/River, Silver Springs, Crystal River. Some smaller theme parks and touristy places that are truer to the real Florida are Silver Springs in Ocala, Homosassa State Park (you can see manatees!), Saint Augustine, and the BEACH!!! ANY beach! There are several state parks and beaces in central Florida, not far from Orlando, if you are definitely doing Disney. Check out http://www.floridastateparks.org Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom are probably the best for little kids. MGM and Epcot are probably more fun for older kids.
- they have some dinner shows where you eat and watch plays being put on. they rock.
- When you arrive, ask if it's possible for early check in. Check in time might be 11, but if they had rooms that were not used the night before they should be able to put you right in. However, if you've made special requests (like adjoining rooms) they probably wouldn't be able to honor them with an early check in.
- You could go to old town http://www.old-town.com/ You could sit and watch band and not walk around too much and have dinner. Our resort also said on the phone no check ins until 4 but they let us check in at 12 the last 4 times we went there so you could try.
