The US believes a huge amount of nonsense about its own past especially in relation to the British Empire, basically the US was not put upon by the British Empire so much as they were an instrument of it, children of it, cultural inheritors of it, beneficiary's of it. Even the war of independence (or the British civil war) has it roots in the politics of the English civil war, the war of independence was a very British act. The so called pilgrims were not the founding fathers of myth nor did they land at Plymouth Rock They were in the main intensely disliked for their narrow minded intolerant views in the UK and chose to leave for some peace and quiet manly, only to nearly land in virgina home of chancers, business men, drinkers,Outlaws and other fine British chaps. The taxes levied on the colony were a lot less then Brits back home had to pay and the colony had access to the whole British empire to do trade with. The Royal navy secured sea lanes across the globe and for a colony to contribute is kind of fair enough really, actually quite a good investment. ooh don't forget with out the British you would probably be French. Iran Neo-Nazis Al Queda Maybe Germany - (If they deny that the Holocaust happened) I argue against America's history being false or biased because it seems to include everything students need to know about both Republicans and Democrats. This is because the views and opinions of Republicans and Democrats have altered over the 200 or so years that the U.S. has exsisted.
