What are good dates between December and January to visit theme parks in Orlando, FL?
My family and I are planning ahead to avoid crowds and to enjoy the experience. What are good dates between Dec/29/2010 and Jan/05/2011 to visit theme parks in Orlando or Tampa? I would also like to inquire if you know about an internet site or something of the sort where I can buy the tickets at a more competitive price. Thanks.

- Go from January 1-5. If your main goal is to go for New Years and stay from December 31- January 5, be aware that it's going to be incredibly crowded. If you want to be in the Magic Kingdom for New Years Eve, you'll have to get there around 8AM or earlier, and then you'll be staying there until about 1AM for the fireworks. I did this two years ago, so that's 17 hours in the park. Exhausting, but worth it. Even other areas of WDW (and Universal Studios and SeaWorld, most likely) will be super crowded. But if you don't want to go for New Years, then I would definitely go from January 1-5. Crowds will be lighter then because kids have to go back to school. It's SO much less crowded, so you don't have to wait on super long lines.
- Early January is the best time. If you want to avoid crowds, don't go on Christmas/the day or two after, because EVERYONE wants to go see the Christmas Light Parade. January 1-10 are the best times to go there, when everyone is finishing up their holidays and going home before school/work starts. As for buying tickets... I honestly can't help you much with that. But buy them in advance, otherwise you may be waiting in line to buy them for a little while (but it's still not that long). Even if you buy them in advance, you will still have to go show them your ID and get your passes and stuff.
- Check out Orlandoinfo.com. They offer a wide variety of discounts for the theme parks, plus restaurants, dinner shows, etc. Also, if you request their Magicard (it's free) you can get even more deals. Have fun on your trip!
