Where can I dontate unused or old hearing aids?

I have several hearing aids that are no longer in use. I have given some to HeadStart as they train kids about people with disabilities. But I still have some and I don't know if there are any places that could use it or recycle it. Only one of them still works. The other ones don't because each one has a typical 7-year span. They are in-the-canal hearing aids and I don't know if they would work with repair. The reason HeadStart uses them is so that kids will be educated when they see people with hearing aids and know what they are for.

  1. What?
  2. Have you tried phoning stores that sell hearing aids? That's what I would do.
  3. TitoBob, thanks for reminding me. My father died a couple months ago, and I have his hearing aids. I'll do that!
  4. Our Foundation specializes in working with children who are hearing impared. We can always use additional hearing aids, and we are a 501(c)(3) non profit. You can read about our Foundation at http://www.letthemhear.org
  5. I work with a girl who wears a hearing aid. She's told me how expensive they are and how insurance doesn't cover much of the cost. And they don't last long! It's nice for the kids at Head Start to see them, but hopefully you find some one who can really use them. There must be a school for deaf kids around.
